Dress Code

DRESS CODE

Mundy’s Mill Middle School has a mandatory uniform
dress code for 2018 - 2019 school year.

In an effort
to continue to promote a safe learning environment, students are to wear the following based on grade level specifics listed below: solid color shirts black, red, or white, with khaki or black bottoms (pants, shorts, or skirts). Belts are a required part of dress code requirements. Detailed information is listed below.

Female Students

  • Tops should have either a polo style collar or a button down collar;
  • Colors for tops may be school colors or white-, -(6thGrade-Red, 7th Grade-Black, 8th Grade-Gray, Mill’s Scholars-Gold )
  • Shirts should cover the waistline;
  • Shirts longer than three inches below the waistline should be tucked inside pants,
    shorts, or skirts
  • Bottoms will be khaki (tan) style or dress pants in colors khaki, or black. (Not jean style or jean material);
  • Dresses, skirts, shorts, and skorts, including slits, must not be shorter than three (3) inches above the bend of the knee;
  • Skinny pants, tights, or leggings that substitute as pants are not acceptable.

Male Students

  • Tops will have either a polo style collar or a button down collar;
  • Colors for tops will be school colors or white-(6thGrade-Red, 7th Grade-Black, 8th Grade-Gray, Mill’s Scholars-Gold )
  • Shirts must be tucked into pants
  • Pants or shorts should be khaki (tan) style or dress pants in colors khaki, black (Not jean style or jean material);
  • Pants must be completely buckled, belted, buttoned or fastened and without tears;
  • Pants shall be worn so that the waistband is worn at the waist and not below the waist.

All Students

  • Tops worn over uniform, such as sweat shirts are restricted to school colors or white;
    (Hooded tops/sweatshirts are not allowed)
  • Belts are required with no sagging of pants;
  • Jeans are not included in uniform dress;
  • Flip-flops, shower shoes, skate shoes and house slippers i.e. slides are not permitted;
  • Pajama/loungewear bottoms and tops are not allowed;
  • No headgear of any kind. This includes hair rollers, scarves, skullcaps, doo rags, wraps, bandanas, etc. (Exceptions will be considered in the case of headwear or scarves worn as a part of a student’s religious practice or documented medical reasons)
  • No hats are to be worn by any student in the building at any time. (No baseball caps during school hours on campus)


The following will not be permissible
per the dress code in CCPS Student Handbook: pull over hoodies, cut off/frayed, or tight shorts; skinny style, tights, jeans, or stretch pants. For female students, shorts or skirts must not be shorter than 3 inches above the bend of the knee. In addition, pull-over garments (vests, sweaters, or light weight jackets) must be solid white, red or black.

SHIRTS

must be SOLID black, red, or white collared Polo Style.

PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS
must be Khaki or Black. (No denim or denim like pants).
