Where We've Been

One of the things that Moses repeatedly warned the Children of Israel of was forgetting where they came from, and more importantly who brought them. So in the Book of Deuteronomy they are commended to remake and reflect on their History in that same spirit.

The Calvary Baptist Church of East Point, Inc. was officially organized on December 2, 1996 under the superintendence of the Holy Spirit and the human leadership of Terrence M. Curtis.

Being sensitive to the leading of the Spirit, Terrence M. Curtis resigned as the pastor of the Neriah Baptist Church of East Point, GA.  In June of 1996 and immediately began plans for organizing the then unnamed church. After prayer and thoughtful contemplation, Terrence was led of the Spirit to name the new church "Calvary" cognizant of that name's significance throughout scripture and history.  Upon Terrence's resignation from Neriah Church, some 50 members also made the decision to follow the vision God had placed on Pastor Curtis so that they could a part of what was sure to be an exciting an anointed new ministry and to continue their relationship with their beloved Pastor of the past six years.
